Cast Iron Characteristics
Cast iron or grey iron has a relatively high carbon content. It is hard, brittle, nonmalleable and more fusible than steel. Suitable in application demanding the ability to withstand high pressure without leaking.
Typically used in gears, v-pulleys, clutch drums, hydraulic pistons, support bearings, control valves, etc.

Bronze Characteristics
Lead gunmetal bronze offer excellent machinability, excellent wear resistance at normal lubrication, high resistance to seizure and good corrosion resistance. It is commonly used in marine sectors.

Brass Characteristics
Brass is a metal alloy composed primarily of copper and zinc, brass usually classified as a copper alloy. Due of its superior machine ability and thread rolling characteristics, brass is most suitable for high speed machining operations. Not only that, it is also easily soldered and it has a resistance to corrosion. Brass is typically used in gears, plumbing ware fittings and valves etc.

Stavax ESR is the most renowned of the ASSAB plastic mould steels. As the core product in the Stainless Concept series it is characterised as a through hardening corrosion resistant mould steel with excellent polishability. Stavax ESR is electro slag remelted in order to further reduce the number of inclusions in the steel.
